The foreign presentation of the Holešov industrial zone continued this month as well. The management of Zone Holešov, together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jan Lipavský, and 14 other Czech businessmen participated in a trade mission to the Middle East. The companies that participated in this mission were pre-selected based on several parameters, so not everyone had the opportunity to participate.

The foreign trip to Saudi Arabia and Iraq took place last week and lasted three days. Minister Lipavský met here with the top representatives of both countries, with whom he discussed many current topics. As part of the trip, two business forums were also held, which included B2B meetings between representatives of individual sectors.

The purpose of the event was to present Czech technologies that could be used in the local mining industry, which has been developing very rapidly in recent years. According to the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, the European Union is the second largest trading partner of Saudi Arabia.

Lipavský also wants to establish mutually beneficial connections with Iraq through Czech businessmen. According to him, the Czech Republic is significantly involved in the stabilization of this country and helps it humanitarian, military and materially. Czech companies can offer their technologies and know-how in the areas of water filtration and purification, construction and the defense industry.

"I am very happy that the Holešov Industrial Zone passed through the network of many interested parties and thus had the opportunity to present itself in the Middle East. Czech entrepreneurs definitely have something to offer these countries. We have a skilled workforce, innovative technologies and approaches here. The Holešov zone is ready to make it easier for these entrepreneurs to start their business and offer them lucrative building areas for their production plants and a location from which they can easily connect not only with the rest of the Czech Republic, but also with the world," said Ing. M.Sc. Lucie Pluhařová, chairman of the board of Industry Servis ZK, which is in charge of the Holešov Zone.

Currently, the Holešov Zone is ready for the entry of other small and medium-sized investors, or one strategic one. Previously, investors were mainly sought by the Agency for Business and Investment Support CzechInvest, but now the Zlín region itself has become more involved in their search. According to Lucie Pluhařová, these trade missions are one of the ways to reach interesting investors from abroad.

In April, a similar trade mission was sent to Singapore and the Republic of Korea, during which representatives of Czech companies participated in the Czech-Singapore business forum and a business meeting in Busan.
