About

The Holešov Industrial Zone is being created in place of a former intrastate public airport, which is not planned to be used anymore, and on adjacent plots. The total area of the zone is 360 hectares. Responsible for the preparation of the zone is the Industry Servis ZK company, the exclusive shareholder of which is the Zlín Region. A substantial proportion of costs for the building of infrastructure is being covered by the Czech state. This is due to the fact that the Holešov project has, similarly to the Mošnov, Nošovice or Kolín projects, been listed as a strategic development areas.

First investors will start to build their project in the zone in 2010, commencement of full operation is planned in following few years. According to a study elaborated by leading Czech economists Petr Zahradník and Jan Jedlička, the Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone will contribute to increased employment, equalization of differences between the average income between the region and the rest of the Czech Republic, increase of the share of the region in gross domestic product, improvement of transport infrastructure in the whole region, and higher standard of civil amenities in the areas surrounding the zone.
